- Are you serious? How can possibly even begin to suggest that Hewson is
- a great leader? You need to examine the facts. Australia is in very
- dire economic straits. Unemployment has reached intolerable levels,
- and the Labor government Australia-wide has taken an unprecedented pounding.
- Despite all of this, Hewson and his "coalition" are still unable to maintain
- a decisive position in the polls. Neither the Australian public nor
- business have embraced Hewson or his policies. As for his performances
- in parliamant, we all know that "labour's number one brawler", Keating,
- tears Hewson to shreds, who presently looks beaten and without confidence
- in what he is saying. The recent back-pedal in policy illustrates this.

-
- Perhaps "ockerness" and "republicanism" are what Australians like to
- see, since they have clearly embraced both of the above leaders to
- a far greater extent than they have Hewson. I think labour are a safe
- bet at the next federal election.
