  12. Statistical software for Mac - who can advise?
  13. We are searching for a good statistical software for Macintosh.

  15. Our criteria:
  16. - statistical quality
  17. - wide range of statistics, including multivariate and exploratory analysis
  18. - nice *and* theoretically correct graphic facilities
  19. - satisfying for a statistician
  20. - easy to use for empirical researchers,
  21.   the system should have typical Mac-facilities
  22. - suitability for educational purposes,
  23.   help-facilties as to statistical functions
  24.   (statistics for medical post-graduate students)

  26. Two possible considered candidates are MacSYSTAT and STATISTICA.

  28. I have obtained a MacSYSTAT 5.3-version for a free trial and my first
  29. experiences are very positive as to the above mentioned criteria.
  30. A colleague asked me about STATISTICA, but I have no experience with it
  31. and it was not possible to obtain a demo version.

  33. I would be very glad for comments/advices from anybody, who has experience
  34. with SYSTAT and/or STATISTICA (and/or what else) on MacIntosh.
