  13. This question may not make sense, but anyway...

  15. I've read about covariant and contravariant derivatives.  Does it
  16. make sense to have mixed tensor derivatives?  i.e. taking the derivative
  17. of a function w.r.t. a type (1,1) tensor, etc... if the function is
  18. a function of this tensor?  Does this question make sense?

  20. If it does exist could someone supply me with some references, the
  21. books I have on the subject don't go into this sort of thing.
