  15. Here is a strange one for you.
  16.  
  17. We tryed to upgrade out laserwriter IIg's to the new proms version.
  18.  
  19. When we did the basic "unplug old proms plug in new proms and move jumper"
  20.  
  21. bit the printer came up just fine with the exception that we cannot
  22. see the printer or use the printer over the ethernet port.
  23.  
  24. We re-installed the old proms, moved the jumper back and guess what?
  25. We still can't see the printer. NUTS!!!
  26.  
  27. We used all the regular precautions so I do no feel it was somthing we
  28. did. 
  29.  
  30. Now the real bad news. Suspecting that the printer might have gone south
  31. for the winter we moved on to the next printer. 
  32.  
  33. New machine, new proms, same old problem.......
  34.  
  35. Now we have two printers that do not work over the ethernet.
  36.  
  37. So the big question is what could be wrong? How could proms mess up two 
  38. machines in such a way that the old proms could not fix?
  39.
