- I always thought, in the world of personal computers and parallel
- printers, that "a printer is a printer is a printer" and with my
- trusty old Epson LX80, I've never been disappointed -- no matter
- what computer I've plugged it into, it has worked (Apple II, PC
- clone, Kaypro 10 CP/M, Amiga 1000...).
-
- Now I have a Smith-Corona D200 (which to all appearances is a simple
- dot matrix printer, except that it has both serial and parallel
- interfaces.) This printer works connected to a PC clone, but NOT
- when connected to any of the other machines (I particularly wish
- it to work with an Apple IIe.) I laid out my two printers and
- my four computers and happily swapped cables at the printer side
- to verify this.
-
- Any idea at all what could be wrong?
