- Can someone who understands these things tell me why I get so much swapping
- in OS/2 with 8Mb RAM? I'm using a 33MHz 80386.
-
- Normally, I have EPM in my startup folder, and I have my Comm folder opened
- automatically. It generally takes about 2 minutes from the placement of the
- background color for my system to quiesce to the point that I can get some-
- thing else started. I know that I could have a command window opened
- immediately, but that doesn't address the issue.
-
- I have the book "Design of OS/2", but it's not specific. Can anyone tell me,
- in concrete terms, what the breakeven point (swapping only when program has
- not been started) is for 4 applications? Let's give them a theoretical size
- of 500K a piece.
