  16. You need the 4.0a patch, which fixes a bug in the line-draw character set :

  20. There was a bug in the VT-100 control sequence handling. The most
  21. obvious effect of this was that applications were unable to switch
  22. between character sets, which affected programs which use the line
  23. drawing character set.                                                    FIXED.

  25. BTW, Oracle has some front-end tool(s) called SQL*Net which runs on top of PC
  26. TCP-IP packages.
