- The OS/2 Bay Area User Group will have its monthly meeting on Monday,
- December 28th. The topic is Managing Your OS/2 2.0 System. David Smith of
- Adobe will discuss font management in OS/2. We will also have a
- presentation on the GammaTech Utilities for HPFS.

- David Smith is OS/2 Project Lead of Adobe Driver Engineering. He will
- discuss how to use Adobe Type 1 fonts in OS/2. David will cover the design
- of the font handling system, the "Intelligent Font Interface," and the
- relationship between OS/2 and WINOS2 font handling by Adobe Type Manager.
- He will give several tips such as how to save disk space used by fonts and
- how to download resident fonts to PostScript printers.

- David will cover upcoming Adobe products that will enhance font handling in
- WINOS2 and allow greater document portability. He will outline Adobe's new
- portable document oriented standard.

- Bring your font and PostScript questions!

- Come also to hear about the GammaTech Utilities for HPFS.

- Door prizes will include the GammaTech Utilities and other software
- products.

- We will have a clinic for new OS/2 users at 7:00 p.m., before the main
- meeting. Bring your questions about getting started with OS/2 and ask the
- experts!

- admission to the trade show for the OS/2 and Windows conference January 20 -
- 22 in San Jose. If you mail the form by January 4th, you will receive your
- free ticket in the mail. The OS/2 Bay Area User Group will have a booth at
- the show. Stop by and say hello.

- Bayshore Freeway (Highway 101). Turn left at the stoplight on Charleston.
