  12.   I tried to install linux (several versions, like 0.97, 0.98 and 
  13. using Hlu boot/root) in a PS/2 L40SX IBM laptop and in all cases the 
  14. thing stops dead the first time it needs keyboard input. 
  15. Actually, it reads the keyboard when it asks for the VGA/SVGA mode, 
  16. but that's it. With HLU boot/root, it goes all the way and gives me 
  17. a login prompt, but will not take anything from the keyboard.

  19.  I have no idea what to do now. I have linux up and running in a 486
  20. desk-top with great results, but my knowledge of PC hardware is 
  21. (very) limited and I don't know that to look for. I could probably 
  22. try some modifications in the Kernel, if I knew what the problem was.
