- Hello netters,
-
- I was trying to install SLS on my PC last night and received an error for
- which I haven't a clue. I booted from disk a1. All looks well, it displayed
- Linux version 0.98.pl5-49 11/16/92 17:49:23. Then requests that I input
- utilities disk (assume it means disk a2). Put disk a2 in. It then displays:
-
- /dev/ram on / type minix ()
- /dev/hda2 on /mnt type minix ()
- /dev/fd0H1440 on /usr type minix (defaults)
- Further instructions can be found in the file /user/README.
- Type 'more /user/README' to look at it.

-
- Now at the linux prompt '#', I type 'ls' and it responds with 'ls: command not
- found'. Basically, no linux commands work.
-
- So, I decide to try 'doinstall /dev/hda2' (since the partition already existed
- from a previous version of SLS). After I insert a2 in the floppy drive at it's
- request, the following error is displayed:
- free-inode: bit 1 already cleared.
- error: you may have inserted the wrong disk, try again (y/n)?
-
- Is the SLS disk 'a2' corrupt on tsx-11? The previous version I installed back
- in November didn't have these problems at all.
-
- Has anyone seen this problem before?
-
- Thanks,
-
- Chet
