- Hi,
- The following is a short of my experience with my S-VHS machine:
-
- I own a Mits E-82 and I am very happy with the playback - I think its the best
- unit on the Oz market.
- However, the reception of stereo signal has been a source of great heart-ache:
- the problem is the hissing on my speakers when listening to stereo TV
- reception - the hissing is at times detrimental to pleasant viewing and I
- have given up
- listening in stereo - mono reception is almost perfect - the hiss disappears
- when the VCR is in mono mode or when the amplifier is in mono mode
- (so it seems that the source of hiss is 180 degrees out of phase).
- I had just visited my Mits distributor only to hear two other decks
- (incl E-82) do the same thing. The Mits manager said that if I wish I can
- have a refund - I nearly fainted then because I didn't think it possible
- to hear something like this in Oz.
- Hearing 3 Mits decks convinced me of one thing - either I'm bonkers, Mits
- (and it's manager) is bonkers or the whole of Melbourne (except for me) is
- bonkers for tolerating such louse reception.
- Visiting Brashs store where I bought the unit (I'm definately bonkers for
- buying from there) wasn't of much help - I heard the SANYO unit giving me
- the same hiss.
- Alex.
