- Paula Simmons discusses this in _Spinning for Softness and Speed_, she
- advocates one-handed production spinning from well-prepared batts, using
- the drafting hand to grasp the fibers lightly (palm up, with the second,
- third, and fourth fingers) as the twist travels the strand. Then
- the other hand can be used to pull nepps and things from the twist
- as they come along. I haven't actually managed to do this technique
- for long, but it is helpful to get the drafting hand somewhat
- independent of the other hand.

- Have any of you had ankle or foot problems with extended treadling?
- Sometimes after plying for a long time (even with the high-ratio
- flyer, and even doing some jogging-type stretches) my ankles hurt.
- I am treadling my Country Craftsman with both feet, overlapping the
- treadle to get a mock heel-toe motion. Can you recommend any
- ankle stretches?
