- Just to add more information, I read in the New York Times that the Argos was to
- installed when Plant arrived in France (which should have been over two and half
- weeks ago, sigh.) Also, they stated Plant was too busy chasing corporate sponsorship
- and just simple forgot to register his EPIRP. The Times also, unfairly I think,
- compared the cost of an 406-EPIRP to Argos, saying an EPIRB costs $2,500 while an
- Argos transponder was only $1,800 for a 30-day period. Meanwhile, the Times reported
- that Search & Rescue is still underway in an area northeast of Bermuda, the last
- known position of his vessel.
