  13. I am having a problem with a 1981 Evinrude 140 (non-VRO).
  14. It starts fine, runs okay, accelerates fine, but after a few
  15. seconds at high speed it drops dead - doesn't run rough or cough, 
  16. just stops cold. It restarts fine. 
  17. Any ideas? I suspect the fuel pump. I was alone with it so I couldn't
  18. pump the primer bulb while it was running to test this theory. What
  19. else should I look for?? The boat is drydocked now until spring.
