- I've got a 84 ford tempo with a brake problem.
- The front driverside caliper (front discs) wont
- release all the way.
-
- The passenger side wheel will free spin when the
- brake is released, while the driver side still
- has friction a plenty...
-
- I tried to push the piston back but didn't have a big enough
- C-clamp.
-
- I'm looking at rebuilding the caliper.
- the rebuild kit costs only $5 which I assume is all the
- rubber stuff.
-
- I have the tool (Torx, a 45 as I recall) to remove the caliper,
- but what is a good thing to plug the brake line with ?
-
- I also already have a brake-bleed-tube of the checkvalve variety.
-
- I've never rebuilt a caliper but it appears strait-forward.
-
- Any tips on freeing the piston & getting it off the rotor ?
- Any tips on anything else ?
