- The A-Series engine is a damn good little powerplant. I ran an Austin with
- this 1300cc unit for 8 years with no problems. On the freeway it should
- cruise comfortably all day at between 60 and 70mph -- keep in mind that top-
- end power is *not* of the blistering hot category unless the engine has been
- extensively modified (racing camshaft, cylinder head porting, etc. etc. -- as
- per the Mini-Cooper racing mods) in which case the car is no longer really
- suitable for everyday road use.
