  48. stays with both Fred and the Doctor, until Al decide to stay on planet
  49. Achilles, then in the next serial Fred is dropped of on Earth.  The
  50. Doctor returns to Gallifrey, next adventure picks up a new companion Patricia.
  51. the Doctor  confronts the Master and Patricia, being a med tech, is force to
  52. see the Doctor regenerate into the 9th Doctor.  The eras in that span of time
