- My daughter is a heavy metal fanatic. Actually Metallica is her favourite group
- and I let her go to a concert last September. She loved it. She actually has
- loved this kind of head banging music for about a year. She tells me what she
- thinks about certain songs and even interprets them. It also inspired her to
- take up electric bass which she has become really good at and the music school
- just recently asked her if she wanted to audition for a heavy metal group (all
- girls of the same age...13 and 14). I don't mind it that much...only sometimes
- the loud music is annoying and I have to tell her to turn it down...
- I once in a while pick up one of those heavy metal music magazines for her and
- read articles about Metallica and other bands myself. Metallica is sometimes
- misinterpreted by many... And then I remember when I grew up and my friends and
- I used to listen to Alice Cooper (remember he pretended to behead snakes on sta
- ge and stuff like that...), and Black Sabbath (isn't Ozzy Osborne still around
- moaning and groaning on stage and 'pretending' to sacrifice animals here and th
- ere...weird eh...). Anyway, I am sure many of you listened to them way back the
- n. Nothing has really changed. Let the kids choose their own music...and suppor
- t them if you dare...and as one of you said before: Keep the communications cha
- nnels open! - Jutta
