- I think that whatever the number of kids, this will happen. I grew
- up in a family of 4 kids. I was 2-1/2 years older than my next youngest
- sister, then there was a brother and a sister each about a year apart.
- At various times we "ganged up" as follows:
-
- The 3 girls against the 1 boy (the most common one ...)
- The 3 "little kids" against me (I cringe at it now, but my folks really did
- lump together the other 3 as the "little kids" quite often)
- The three with similar coloring (very fair-skinned with blondish hair) against
- the one sister who had chestnut-colored hair and skin that tanned instead
- of sunburned
- The three oldest against the youngest (we teased her so mercilessly that in
- in kindergarten she always demanded that her teacher tell her whether a
- story was "real" or "made-up" before the teacher could read it to the
- class)
- And there were many more such alliances ...
-
- The point here is that kids will be kids, and "ganging up" is part of that.
- I don't know how the dynamic works in families with 2 kids, but if you
- get over that number an even number of kids vs. an odd number of kids
- doesn't change the "ganging up" part.
