- I thought I'd start an interesting thread with a question for general
- discussion: what industries do you like/dislike? (Other than
- computers & related areas, which this group tends to o.d. on!)
-
- Pharmaceuticals look *great* to me right now. They're down up to 20%
- from year-ago prices, with amazingly cheap P/Es. Sure, Clinton is
- going to cut health-care costs, but it looks to me like this is a case
- of "down on expectations, up on news". That is, Clinton's mighty
- cost-cutting has been discounted, and when it turns out to be not so
- bad after all, drug stocks will rebound. (I'm talking about a >= 1
- year timeframe, not short-term) Second opinions?
-
- As for "hot" areas, how are technology-oriented environmental
- (pollution control) companies doing? I'm sure everyone else has
- thought of this area long before me, but they seem like a natural
- choice for a Clinton/Gore administration. I'll go look 'em up, but I
- like bargains, so I bet I'm too late for this bandwagon...
-
- Okay, your turn.
