- I have a lot of problems with my wrists when I do EZ Bar curls (I had to
- give up barbell curls looong ago as even more damaging.) I don't use ultra
- heavy weights (I wish...), I use good slow form and don't jerk the bar but I
- still get sharp pains in various bits of the wrist, even though I started
- taping them when it first occured. I don't think it's anything like Carpal's
- - the pain is in the wrist joint or slightly above, between where the second
- and third fingers start.
- I mentioned it to the doc - I say to him "I get pains in my wrists when I
- curl weights." He says, "Don't curl weights." He's a nice guy but he doesn't
- understand the dream.
-
- First off, I'm working on wrist and reverse wrist curls to strengthen the
- weakness. Heck, I'm even using electro-muscular stimulation to loosen up the
- area (worked for my knees!).
- Anyway, enough whining - what I really want to know is a good alternative to
- barbell curls for building biceps. Oh, although it's not so bad, I do have
- difficulty with dumbbell curls as well. (used to be healthy, then I started
- lifting weights. yup...)
- I tried a few under-grip pull-ups and it felt pretty good (TRANS: murder on
- my arms - I might just possibly be carrying a leetle extra weight around my
- middle.) Am I gonna get anywhere with these or is it a dead-end? I really
- only need something to maintain what I've got for a few months until I've
- strengthened my wrists and I can get back to the EZ bar.
-
- Posts or email would really be appreciated!
