- Have to agree with that!
- Deep relaxation is another I find very useful. WEar loose clothing, and lie down on
- a bed, or even the floor. Then imagine all the stress and tension in your body flowing
- from your head down through your body and out your feet. Then relax your body bit by
- bit, starting with your feet. Say to yourself, "I'm now relaxing my feet and letting
- all the tension go", and feel them relaxing as you say it. Then do the same for your ankles,
- calves, knees, thighs, bottom, then shoulders, upper back, arms, hands, then lower back.
- Then imagine your forehead going completely smooth and relaxed, then around your eyes,
- your mouth, your neck and throat (LOADS of tension here usually). Let your chest relax,
- and feel it getting lighter, then your stomach. Now just lie there for about 20mins-
- half an hour, or until you wake up again! Don't set an alarm - just finish whenever you
- feel like it.
- It's also nice to do this to relaxing music at a low volume - listening
- to the music takes your mind off things and usually prevents you from falling asleep.
- I've often been so tired that I don't even get past my ankles before falling asleep,
- even when I'm also tense or worried!
-
- Try it out!
