- This didn't send too well, so I'll try again. Here's a new version of
- the Internet resource guide. Two points to note: Cornell has updated
- their Info-Prime archives, and Kean is now offering FTP service.

- I had intended to test everything in the guide before sending out this
- revision, but never got around to it. If you run into any problems
- let me know.

- Please feel free to distribute this however you wish. Take some copies
- to you next local users group meeting and pass them around, or forward
- a copy to someone who might be interested.

- This guide documents resources available on the Internet of particular
- interest to users of systems and software supplied by Prime Computer,
- Inc.

- The first section of this guide lists resources available via electronic
- mail, and the second resources available using FTP. Each entry includes
- information about what's available and how to get it, and who to contact
- in case of difficulty.

- There are a number of more general Internet resource guides available.
- One particularly good one was written by Jerry Martin and can be
- retrieved using FTP. Connect to host magnus.acs.ohio-state.edu with
- user "anonymous", password "guest"; cd "pub/network"; and get the file
- "resource.txt".

- There are three file servers currently offering free software and data of
- interest to Prime users. Send mail with the single line HELP in the body
- to the server address for information about how to use the server. The
- reply you receive will tell you how to get a current list of the files
- offered by the server. Comments, questions, and problems should be
- reported to the administrative address listed for each server.

- line utilities, samples for subroutine calls in various languages,

- Cornell University currently offers FTP service on their Prime system.
- This service will be eliminated within the next year or two. Connect
- to host Prime.NYSAES.Cornell.EDU (132.236.1.1) with account "anonymous",
- password "guest". Get the file "readme" for information about the server
- and file "files" for information about what's available.

- Files available include useful utility programs, Kermit for Primos,
- Primos command line utilities, information about Curses/Terminfo, and
- Info-Prime archives.

- The University of Kentucky offers FTP service between the hours of
- 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. (subject to change). Connect to host
- ukpr.uky.EDU (128.163.1.8) with account "anonymous", password "guest".
- Get the file "***readme***" for information about using the server;
- cd to directory "anonymous>prime" for Prime-specific files.

- Files available include Stevie, a VI-clone for Primos.

- The Lysator Academic Computer Society at Linkoping University, Sweden,
- currently has some Prime/PRIMOS software available for anonymous FTP
- from the machine "ftp.lysator.liu.se" (130.236.254.1). Login with
- user "anonymous" and then give your email address as the password.
- Then "cd" to the directory "pub/primos", below which you will find
- a number of subdirectories.

- Files available include ports of GNU Tar, Bison, Grep and Diff. BSD
- Compress/Uncompress. Sun's RPC 4.0 package and an old version of
- MicroEMACS.

- Kean College offers FTP service in addition to the mail service listed
- above. Login to Turbo.Kean.EDU (131.125.1.1) with user "anonymous". No
- password is required. Get the file "READ-THIS-FILE-FIRST" for additional
- information. Some of the same files available via e-mail are available
- via FTP as well; in addition there is a great deal more information
- available only via FTP, including Internet information, RFCs, and a large
- library of PC software, especially Windows software.
