  15.     I am planning to buy a diskspace saver program, which compresses the
  16. files on my harddisk. Two in the market seem good:

  18. Aladdin Systems' (who make StuffIt deluxe, etc.) StuffIt Space Saver 1.0 ($34)
  19. Salient (or Fifth Generation)'s AutoDoubler ($45)
  20.  
  21. Both seem to do compressing in background and make the fact that you're
  22. working with compressed files transparent to the user except that things are
  23. a bit slower than before. I wonder what is the differences are between these
  24. two besides the $10 price difference.

  27. o how reliable each's compression/decompression is
  28. o bug report
  29. o the degree of slowdown
  30. o the popularity of each
  31. o etc.
