  10.     Well this is my first post; please bear with me.

  12.     For the past two years, I have tried to download .gif files from 
  13. various ftp sites with absolutely no success. While I have nearly every gif
  14. program available for the Mac, nothing seems to work.(I have a SE/30, 5mb)

  16.     Nobody I know seems to know the problem. Anyone?

  18.     The most common errors I get are of the type: Error in decoding, Bad
  19. header...

  22.     All I want is some nice startupp screens! If anyone can help, I would
  23. be extremely grateful.
