- Does anyone out there in netland know why PC Emulation cards are so
- expensive for the mac? The only one I know of is by Orange Micro and
- last time I looked it was over $1000.
-
- This seems an exorbitant price since I can get an eqivalent 386sx
- motherboard for around $100 and I can can get an industrial PC on
- an S100 card for around $300. PC emulator cards for Atari STs
- (68000 based, no expansion ports, so these clip over the processor)
- start at $100 for a 8088 and finish at about $400 for a 386sx.
-
- At these sort of prices (less than the cost of SoftPC) there would
- surely be a market (I'd buy one!) Otherwise if I want PC compatibility
- I might as well buy a cheap notebook PC and keep it next to my mac.
-
- Any comments (or even better, have I got my facts wrong: is there an
- affordable card out there - NuBus or PDS)
