  27. We have several 1 GB Magneto-optical drives from Macinstor. Our experience
  28. is that these drives is very  slow: (aver. read: 33 msek, aver. write: 130 msek).
  29. We would never
  30. use these drives as the primary harddisk on a computer. We use them for
  31. storing big images (for our reseach).
  32. Another problem on these drives is that they crash rather often. Maybe that
  33. this is not a problem on other magneto-optical mecanisms. We have heard about
  34. a 650 MB M-O drive, which is more robust.
