- I just bought MediaVision's CD Fusion PAS (not PAS-16) and NEC CDR-25 (a
- new NEC SCSI CD-ROM drive) multimedia kit for $400 (couldn't pass up what
- seemed like a great price for the combo).
-
- Can anyone explain to me how the Windows 3.1 CD-ROM drivers operate in
- terms of spinning the disk? Here's the situation. The CD-ROM manual says
- not to open the drive door (a top loader with no caddy requirement) while
- the disk is spinning (fair enough). However, I notice that the disk NEVER
- stops spinning when I am in Windows. I wrote a little CD-ROM controller
- using Visual BASIC 2.0 to try to 'stop' the disk. Although it does
- terminate the current action (say playing a CD audio disk), it does not
- halt the spinning.
-
- Any tips would be appreciated.
