  26. The second Codes/CASH workshop addresses theoretical aspects, methods, and
  27. tools for hardware/software codesign.  Hardware/software
  28. co-design techniques aim at the improvement of the development of heterogeneous
  29. systems.  The goals of HW/SW co-design techniques are the functional
  30. optimization of systems, optimization of the development process, cost
  31. reduction, and the reduction of development time.
  32.  
  33. This workshop will promote 
  34. existing approaches and provide an informative exchange forum to report
  35. and learn about current developments in this area. In addition, contacts
  36. between research institutes and industrial development sites will be
  37. established.  Future trends and requirements will be discussed.
  38. Representatives from industry and academia are encouraged to present
  39. research activities, case studies,  and applications. Areas of interest
  40. include but are not limited to:
  41.  
  42. - Current (industrial) development processes for heterogeneous systems
  43. - Future requirements on development processes
  44. - Hardware/software co-design applications and case studies
  45. - Heterogeneous system design, modeling, and simulation techniques (and languages)     
  46. - Strategies for delayed hardware/software partitioning
  47. - Hardware/software interface consistency management
  48. - Concurrent design management
  49. - CAD tool support for hardware/software co-design
  50. - Theoretical aspects of hardware/software co-design

  53. The attendee contributions will lay the basis of the working sessions.
  54. Authors are asked to submit three copies of an extended summary, along with three
  55. keywords describing the contents of their papers
  56. by February 12th, 1993. To encourage a free exchange of ideas,
  57. no proceedings will be published and no recording devices will be
  58. permitted.

  114. on Sunday), meals, and social events will be about DM 1000,- (~ US$ 700).
  115. Additional overnight stays will be arranged on request.  There will be no
  116. discounts for part-time participants.

  119. 12th, 1993. Notification of acceptance and/or final confirmation of
  120. participation will be sent out by April 15th, 1993.
