  11. This weekend while driving back to LA from San Luis Obispo
  12. I decided to take one of the "forgotten" roads of CA - Hwy 166.
  13. It goes from Santa Maria to I-5.

  15. The good news is that its quite pretty (well, at least in its
  16. own way with barren rolling hills and some plains w/ small mtns) and 
  17. there was hardly any traffic and it's fairly fun to drive on.

  19. I did however see 2 CHPs - vs. my expectation of zero, as this
  20. was supposed to be a bit of a speed test for the Z.  Also, 
  21. there was hardly ever a stretch where I felt comfortable
  22. punching it (into the triple digit range) - going from Maricopa
  23. to I-5 it is straight and flat but it's kinda bumpy and between
  24. Santa Maria and Maricopa there are no nice long straight stretches.

  26. More good news for me is that once again I keep my clean record.

  28. Hey, this is just a FYI kind of a posting...Oh, but hey, while
  29. I'm at it, those of you who go on speed runs, which deserted
  30. highways do you prefer?
