- Actually, no. The pulses aren't always visible on the line - that depends
- on your exchange. When they move to charge-by-the-second, they'll go
- away entirely. What they now do (and will now use as well) is to keep
- full call records, which can be processed to yeild a per-second charge.

- Telecom was a massive crock. It's 99% of the reason why so many phone
- users hate telecom. You get a bill. It says 15479 pulses, please pay
- $3714.96. The reason we had to suffer that system at all was because
- Telecom management made an explicit decision that customers didn't
- want itemised bills enough to cover the cost. I'd like to ask them now
- if they think they still made the right decision...
