  27. Well put.  When I look at "all caps", and ask "Why?", the answer that
  28. comes to mind is either ignorance (which has been disproven), and "to
  29. be annoying."

  31. It's certainly gotten well into that "annoying" stage.

  36. The point of a shenanigan is to be CREATIVE.  Not to just continue to
  37. copy what one has already done.

  44. Funny once.  Actually, very creative and quite funny once.  If people
  45. start doing bunches of partially-Rot-13'ed postings, it will cease to
  46. be funny.  Certainly qualified as a shenanigan...

  48. ObShenanigan: One summer my 3 brothers and I were getting VERY bored.
  49. I was on vacation between the summer term (ended in Aug) and the fall
  50. term, came home for a few weeks, and seriously had nothing to do.  So
  51. we pulled a pretty impressive shenanigan.

  53. We'd been following a noon-hour phone-in show.  The host was pretty
  54. lame, and came up with more and more stupid questions each day.  So we
  55. decided to pull a "fast one."
  56.  
  57. One day, the topic of discussion was to be "Crying in the Workplace."
  58. Nobody wanted to admit to having done it, and the calls were pretty
  59. slow.  So we quickly made up a story, and my brother "Bob" gave Wayne
  60. MacLean a call.  So that there wouldn't be laughter in the background
  61. to either clue anybody in, or to distract "Bob", he locked himself
  62. away in a back room.

  64. "Hello, Wayne?  I'm Bob, an accountant from South Ottawa.  A few weeks
  65. ago, two women came into my office, and both started crying."

  67. "What happened next, Bob?"

  69. "I fired them both!"

  71. "Hello, this is Wayne MacLean's Hotline, and this is the caller I've
  72. been waiting for!..."  Suddenly all of the phone lines lit up :-).

  74. "Bob" was invited to stay on the line for over half an hour, and
  75. discussed various issues (from an INCREDIBLY male-chauvinist
  76. perspective!) with other callers.

  78. The rest of the family was huddled around the radio, laughing our
  79. heads off, as some callers hurled abuse at "Bob" - "You've set the
  80. women's movement back 50 years!"  Still others agreed with Bob, which
  81. was even more incredible!

  83. Stupidly, we didn't record the show on cassette.

  85. The coming project for the Christmas holidays: Making up twisted
  86. resumes for nonexistent persons, and sending them in to employers.
