- I have sympathy with your feelings about this. Many years ago
- I saw the Philadelphia quartet play an "introduction to string
- quartet" concert, containing excerpts from different pieces. The
- final piece they played was the eigth quartet of DSCH, and they had
- to play the whole thing as you really cannot break that piece up.
-
-
- I still think however thatn excerpt tape would work. Of
- course you don't get the "bigger picture" but dsch shines so much
- anyway. My own introduction was through such a compilation, and my
- immeadiate response was "who is this guy? where do i get more??!!".

-
- suggestions?

- Third mvmt of 5th symphony. The beautiful soprano solo in
- Lady Macbeth. A couple preludes and fugues. One of the songs in the
- 14th symphony. (Madam! Look! You've dropped something!). And finish
- it with the WHOLE 8th quartet.
