  11.     I discovered plans made the night before never factor in how tired 
  12. you really are, so both me and Pete Stoller sleep through the breakfast we 
  13. planned.
  14.     Early on I hit the Dealer's room, buy some gifts for my nephew and 
  15. cruise the furry table real quick, the only one there I have not seen yet 
  16. this con is Steven Martin, whom I have heard more than enough stories about 
  17. that meeting him in person did not refute.  I find Speet again and we go 
  18. looking for somone while most of hte other furries sit in on a panel about 
  19. producing your own comic.  Since Vicky (Xanadu) Wyman could not make it this 
  20. year--Jim Groat fills in for her.  Afterwards everyone decides to do lunch
  21.     What happened is that everyone decided to go to a White Castle some 
  22. distance away from the con, half in a caravan, half on their own.  I ride 
  23. with Speet in his 1979 Chevy Blazer along with Dusty Rhodes--a rather nice 
  24. guy and decent artist with the looks of a biker, made me a bit nervous around 
  25. him.  We were part of the caravan that made it in
  26.     When we first arrived, there were maybe 10 of us and 8 normal 
  27. cusomters, but not much later we *filled* the White Castle with about 15 to 
  28. 20 of us, we were the only people in there and I have to give the employees 
  29. there a lot of credit for putting up with us.  I think the funniest thing was 
  30. Jim Groat and Rich Chandler keeping people out of Jimmy Chin's seat.  There 
  31. were some photos taken there and we all headed out when we were done.
  32.     On the ride home Jim Groat also came back in Speet's Blazer.  The 
  33. ride back was fun becuase Dusty threw Ice cubes out the back window at 
  34. another car in the caravan--scoring two direct hits.  In the hight of this 
  35. fun we missed out exit and wound up driving through Philadelphia to get back 
  36. to the con.
  37.     Once back, me and Speet sat down to hash out some details on an 
  38. upcoming Furrlough story, from the roughs it seems to look really nice.  Pete 
  39. left for the furry party about 8 and I stayed in his room for another hour 
  40. watching TV.
  41.     The Saturday night furry party was interestng to say the least, on 
  42. the door someone drew a skunk with a clothespin on his nose with a "No" 
  43. sybol around him and the caption "Please Bathe First" (too bad it didn't 
  44. work).  While at the party I met David Reiss (and got a sketch), Eric 
  45. Schwartz (and got a sketch), Taral Wayne (sorry, no sketch from him) and Juan
  46. Alfonso.  Juan was interesting becuase he looked a lot like my father, and he
  47. told me interesting stories about growing up in Cuba while we walked between
  48. hotels, and yes, I got a sketch from him too.
  49.     Since there were so many art books being passed around (and now not 
  50. even the high-qualty bound books but just the thick pads and binders.  I 
  51. myself bought a tablet of 40 sheets of 2-ply Bristol board.  Not only can I 
  52. pass out single sheets, but 4 will fit nicely in the 22 X 28 poster frames I 
  53. have at home.  I would up with a few nice sketches that will be hanging in my 
  54. bedroom by the end of the week.
