  12. I am working on doing a non-linear fit and I have heard that the Marquardt
  13. algorithm in Bevington's book "Data Reduction and Error Analysis in the 
  14. Physical Sciences" is a good one to use.  Is this true?  If not, can you
  15. suggest other non-linear fitting routines.  I would prefer not to use the
  16. IMSL libraries, simply because I want to do this on a P.C.  Thank you
