- The AMS published comparitive cost figures for research journals in
- 1984, 1986, 1988, and 1989. Gordon & Breach objected to the figures.

- G&B explain their side in an ad in the Notices of the AMS, January, 1990,
- pages 92--93.

- AMS explain their side in an editorial in the same issue, pages 2 and 18.

- An article on this is in the Notices in 1990 (vol. 37 no. 6) page 681.
- It contains other references, as well. According to it, Gordon & Breach
- filed suit in Germany (based on their law prohibiting comparative advertising)
- against the American Mathematical Society. G & B had previously filed a
- similar suit against the American Physical Society and the
- American Institute of Physics.
