- When I was in eighth grade I used to play with electricity a lot with my
- friend, Nathaniel. Nathaniel got the idea that it would be funny to take
- his Variac transformer, turn it down to zero, clip the two leads to his
- braces (one on the top, one on the bottom), and slowly increase the voltage.
-
- At 50 volts, he was still saying, "nothing yet..." the conductance
- threshold ended up being about 52 volts. Fortunately, he lived, and was
- still able to eat through a straw.
