- My father has had two Suburbans ('78 and '84) and a Chevy Van ('85),
- and they all displayed a vibration at around 25 mph when accelerating.
- It felt almost as though the transmission was slipping at that speed,
- but the '78 now has 145K miles on the original drivetrain so I don't
- think that could be the problem. Along with these vehicles, I've
- driven '82 (G20) and '89 (G30) Chevy Vans which also displayed the same
- vibration. Nobody ever explained the vibration, but it doesn't seem
- to hurt anything.
-
- As far as the 50MPH+ vibration, I'd tend to think it's unrelated. The
- vibrations from out of balance or out of round tires seems to start
- to show up at around 50MPH in vehicles of that size.
-
- Good luck!
