- At the drag strip, consistency is what wins races... not power. Automatic
- transmissions tend to act in a predictable manner, delivering quick, powerful
- shifts (with no adverse effect on wear!!!) while very rarely missing
- gears! :-) I do know some racers who swear by their manual transmissions:
- "I'd rather eat worms than drive an automatic" -Dixie Deuce , and can drive
- and launch them consistently. If you're good... what the hell?
