- My 1977 Chevy Caprice wagon has the dreaded "GM Headliner Droop"
- - the layer of foam rubber between the cloth and the formed cardboard
- roof liner has deteriorated badly. The Chevy parts place says replacement
- headliners are not available. I could take it to a trim shop, but I'd
- prefer to do it myself.
-
- J.C.Whitney sells both headliner kits and bulk headliner fabric
- (either with or without foam backing). According to the description,
- the kits seem to hang below the existing headliner on bows, taking about
- 1/2" of headroom. I would prefer to make it as close to original as
- I can, so I lean toward glueing foam-backed material in place of the
- original stuff.
-
- Anybody have any experiences/thoughts you'd offer me and the millions
- of other GM Headliner Droop sufferers in netland??
