- I have modified the "nfswatch" program, which is useful for gathering
- statistics about NFS operations, so that it understands FDDI packets
- as well as Ethernet packets. So far, I have only done this for Ultrix
- systems (Ultrix version 4.2 or later, and if you have any flavor of
- 4.2 you will first have to apply the infamous "packet filter patches"
- to the kernel).
-
- If anyone with an FDDI-equipped SunOS system wants to try to make
- nfswatch work there, please send me the necessary modifications (once
- you are comfortable with them). David Curry and I will integrate them
- into the next release of nfswatch. I'm also curious to know if this
- version successfully compiles and runs on SunOS, even if it doesn't
- add FDDI support.
-
- Also, if anyone wants to port nfswatch to a system other than Ultrix
- or SunOS, we'd be happy to get the results of your efforts.
