  14. I've not seen this mentioned before, so I thought I should ask whether any-
  15. one else have the same problem I have.  Yesterday we installed 386BSD 0.1 on
  16. the following system:

  18.     ISA-based 486/33, 8MB
  19.     Adaptec SCSI (1542B?) on ISA, 240MB Quantum SCSI disk
  20.     3.5" and 5.25" floppies (not sure on which controller, though)
  21.     WD80013EBT (?) ethernet card (the WD8003E wouldn't work, this
  22.                 was before the recent patch and we never 
  23.                 got around to putting the old card back)

  25. However, we've seen the error I'm about to describe on another system as 
  26. well.

  28. The error is that one have to do a hard reset of the machine in order for
  29. the autoconfigure to find the ethernet card!  If you simply reboot (as when
  30. you're logged in via telnet), it won't find the ethernet card.  Either a
  31. press of the reset switch or a power cycle appears to be necessary.
