- Hi,
-
- We have a RS-6000 running AIX 3.01, running as a NFS/NIS client off a SUN
- server. Suddenly recently, without anything changing to my knowledge, it
- stopped allowing accounts with a certain group ID number to log in, with
- the message "failed setting terminal ownership and mode". We have "+:"
- at the end of /etc/group file so it should be getting these information
- via YP, and it seems to work for all the other accounts (no problem loggin
- in). We worked around the problem by adding that particular group into
- /etc/group, but I still would like to know what may have caused the problem.
- Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for any replies.
