  13. We have a RS-6000 running AIX 3.01, running as a NFS/NIS client off a SUN
  14. server.  Suddenly recently, without anything changing to my knowledge, it
  15. stopped allowing accounts with a certain group ID number to log in, with
  16. the message "failed setting terminal ownership and mode".  We have "+:"
  17. at the end of /etc/group file so it should be getting these information
  18. via YP, and it seems to work for all the other accounts (no problem loggin
  19. in).  We worked around the problem by adding that particular group into
  20. /etc/group, but I still would like to know what may have caused the problem.
  21. Does anyone have any ideas?  Thanks for any replies.
