  27. It is also important to note that all newer Sun boxes have a jumper pair
  28. that allows you to select RS-423 or RS-232. Default is RS-423.
  29. Look for a chapter named "Serial Port MOde Requirements" in your
  30. Installation Guide. I know my IPC has these jumpers, I believe
  31. all newer desktops have them. The 8-serial/1-parallel interface
  32. has them.

  34. An interesting aside: RS-423 open pins default to On, while RS-232
  35. defaults to Off.
