- I don't always read this group, so please e-mail and I'll post the results
- back...
-
- I have (at the moment) a Sun 3/60 acting as a server to a 3/50 (ROM Rev 2.8).
- Both are running SunOS 4.1. When they are rebooted together (eg after a
- power-cut), after the 3/60 has booted the 3/50 starts to reboot OK...
-
- On the 3/50 screen...
- ...
- Booting from tftp server at ...
- Downloaded ..... bytes
-
- Using IP Address...
- hostname: ....
- domainname: ....
- server name ....
- root pathname ....
- Remote mount daemon not responding
-
-
-
- At this point the 3/60 starts printing on the console and in
- /var/adm/messages:
- Jul 22 02:22:36 exnet mountd[194]: couldn't register TCP MOUNTPROG
- Jul 22 02:22:37 exnet inetd[176]: /usr/etc/rpc.mountd: exit status 1
- Jul 22 02:22:38 exnet mountd[195]: couldn't register TCP MOUNTPROG
- Jul 22 02:22:38 exnet inetd[176]: /usr/etc/rpc.mountd: exit status 1
- Jul 22 02:22:39 exnet mountd[196]: couldn't register TCP MOUNTPROG
- Jul 22 02:22:39 exnet inetd[176]: /usr/etc/rpc.mountd: exit status 1
- Jul 22 02:22:40 exnet mountd[197]: couldn't register TCP MOUNTPROG
- Jul 22 02:22:40 exnet inetd[176]: /usr/etc/rpc.mountd: exit status 1
- ...
- Jul 22 02:23:25 exnet mountd[232]: couldn't register TCP MOUNTPROG
- Jul 22 02:23:26 exnet inetd[176]: /usr/etc/rpc.mountd: exit status 1
- Jul 22 02:23:27 exnet inetd[176]: mountd/rpc/udp server failing (looping), service terminated
-
-
- Then after a while the 3/50 says:
- socreate: EPROTONOSUPPORT
- clntkudp_create: socket creation problem: Protocol not supported (errno 43)
- Address Error, PC fetch at 001A48BG
- >
-
-
- Now if I reboot the 3/50 by hand everything is fine. The problem is that the
- Suns are automatically powered down every night and I am *not* around to
- restart the 3/50 at 4am! What can I do? (Is this an RTFM? I've looked, but
- no joy so far.)
-
- Thanks
