- Hello Netters,
-
- The research group that I am currently working for is moving from
- VMS to UNIX workstations. We would like to provide access for users
- to do programming, email, text processing and other "routi tasks
- from either x-terminals or diskless workstations. Price wise the
- x-terminals are a cheaper method, but one of our main concerns is the
- ease of setup and administration of these "remote" terminals.
-
- I've heard rumors that some administrators have had problems getting
- x-terminals up and running. I would like to hear from administrators
- who have had "actual" experience in either setting up x-terminals or
- diskless workstations (or both), and the pro's/con's of either
- method.
