  16. The research group that I am currently working for is moving from
  17. VMS to UNIX workstations. We would like to provide access for users
  18. to do programming, email, text processing and other "routi tasks
  19. from either x-terminals or diskless workstations. Price wise the 
  20. x-terminals are a cheaper method, but one of our main concerns is the
  21. ease of setup and administration of these "remote" terminals.

  23. I've heard rumors that some administrators have had problems getting 
  24. x-terminals up and running. I would like to hear from administrators
  25. who have had "actual" experience in either setting up x-terminals or
  26. diskless workstations (or both), and the pro's/con's of either
  27. method.
