- I would uses silverlining, v5.32 or above if you have it. However, by
- increasing the interleave to 1:1 from 2:1, you will most likely lose storage
- space. If you are using a slower machine such as a mac II or any of the
- compact models except the SE/30, I highly doubt that your scsi transfer times
- will increase, and may infact decrease significantly. The reason for the
- interleave factor is to make up for the speed of the machine. Unless you
- are using a fast mac, you will actually lose performance, as the disk will
- have to spin extra rotations to read the same information.

- So, if you are using the drive on its original machine, I would leave the
- configuration as is, for reliability and the best performance.
