- I've successfully formatted a DEC RZ23 using LaCIE's SilverLining
- software. Today we use this drive on a Macintosh SE running AppleShare
- server SW without any problems. The RZ23 is not a fast drive, however.

- DEC's SCSI drives normally do not spin up at power-on. This makes a
- Macintosh freak out completely. To change this behaviour on a RZ23 you
- have to send a SCSI command (MODE_SELECT) to the drive. It is not
- possible to configure this on a RZ23 using jumpers or swithces.

- I'll mail you the VMS Macro source code for a program that will fix the
- spin-up problem. This program will _only_ work on a VAX machine with a
- SCSI controller that uses the VMS GKDRIVER (such as the uVAX 3100).
