- Last week (I think), someone posted about a no-slot upgrade from 386
- to 486 for IBM models 70 and 80. I received info from the distributor
- and the thing looks good! Some specs:
-
- cost: $995
- how it installs: pull out your 386 and plug in the 5" by 5" L-shaped
- board. It's a 486DX/33MHz board. I have a model P70, and due
- to its compactness, the current board is too thick (1/2") to
- fit in the case - but, they're actively working on an adapter
- to fit the P70.
- compatibility: Xenix 386, Windows and OS/2. Runs all software incl.
- QEMM and other mem. managers.
- Others: DX2 upgradeable!!!!! No drivers to load or utilities
- required for installation and operation.
-
- Sold by Sigma Data, P.O Box 1790, New London, NH 03257
- (800) 446-4525.
-
- [I don't work for the company, etc..etc.. just excited about the
- prospects of this upgrade]
