- We have a cluster of HPUX systems that is in the process of being upgraded
- from two 340's running HPUX 6.2 to a 425e and two 340's running HPUX 8.0
-
- If we boot the diskless 340 from the old 340 server the system happily run's,
- If we try to boot the same diskless 340 from the new 425 server, It takes
- about 45 minutes to boot, and then runs PAINFULLY slow afterwards.
-
- Other relevant facts.
-
- pinging the system in this state reports 30-50% packet loss. We have tried
- swapping out lan cables and tee's to no avail.
-
- We have upgraded the 340 to 12 Mb memory to no avail.
-
- We have run this kernel configuration of 8 Mb 340's with no problem.
-
- vmstat reports nothing untoward going on.
-
- There are no processes hogging the system.
-
- I am at my wits end about things to look at. Does anybody have any ideas
- about what the problem may be?
-
- Email may have trouble reaching me, try the addresses in the signature.
-
- Thanks.
